HOW WE TRACK OUR BUDGET
We use Google Spread Sheets to track everything for our sailing and then we construct the graphs to see how we’re doing. Equipment expenses include sails, boat equipment and sailing clothes. Miscellaneous expenses include our boat charter, sail repair, Sail Canada yearly dues and coaching fees when Chris is not available. Travel expenses include gas, food and lodging. The ‘Running Total’ is how much we have available for sailing at the end of every month.
Beginning in May we jump started our campaign by:
• Selling i420 and laser equipment
• Money saved from previous jobs
• Hosting a wine tasting fundraiser
• Receiving donations

THE SIX YEAR PLAN
2018
This year is dedicated to the fundamentals of this campaign: tuning our skills to the boat, and establishing a financial support network for the future years. We have world class coaching, plus physical and mental training. Our main priority is to raise funds to purchase a used boat in the fall: $24,000. Our other major expenses for this year include ground shipping/storage fees (for boat transportation) to Miami for winter training
2019
After intensive training camps throughout the academic year, our peak event of this year will be Junior World Championships (JWCs). Our major financial needs will include:
• Flights to Risor Norway, ground transport, lodging and food
• Regatta boat charter, boat insurance and regatta fee
• Equipment (sails)
We plan to fine tune our racing skills at JWCs, and put them to the test at the 2020 World Cup in Miami.
2020
We want to push ourselves towards the top of our fleet. We have chosen to dedicate the next olympic quadrant to mastering this boat, in order to pursue the podium in 2024. Important events this year include our first Senior World Championship: 2020 World Cup in Miami.
2021
This year, the calendar of events leading up to next Olympics are released. We plan to train full-time, and purchase a used boat for the European circuit.
